Given that you indicated the engine "just seems like its freewheeling", I am wondering if you don't have any compression on any cylinders? Are you sure that cam gear alignment and timing belt alignment were done correctly? Also, as far as the fuel pressure dropping off immediately after shutting off the car, it would appear that you are losing pressure somewhere (fuel injector staying open, fuel pump check valve not working, etc.). If I were you, I would try to perform a compression test and see what you get. If the timing were significantly off, the valves are already history anyway. For ignition to take place you need fuel, ignition source, and compression.
